PHILLIP ISLAND - Working with Photographers and Working with couples who reside overseas

When a celebrant is approached by a couple (or one party) that resides overseas, whether they have the opportunity to sit down for an initial meeting or not, it is imperative the celebrant acts promptly and professionally with the knowledge of the legal requirements necessary for the celebrant to solemnise their marriage according to law in Australia.

3HR WORKING WITH PHOTOGRAPHERS  and leading a vendor team
Often, the marriage celebrant sees him/herself as removed from the other contractors and this may be due to the fact that the celebrant spends the least amount of time at the actual wedding. Marriage celebrants must begin to see themselves as a vital component of the vendor team and therefore it is important to develop a basic understanding as well as empathy for the roles of the other team members. This is especially true with regards to photographers as the two vendors work together for a brief period of time. When true collaboration takes place between celebrant, photographer and other vendors, there is a confidence that develops in both the bridal party and guests. Celebrant must see themselves as a team leaders and ceremony coordinators and this must be handled extremely carefully in order to develop rapport quickly and create complete synergy without bruising egos and as a result, damaging relationships.   Learning to work together will result in confident performances from both the photographer and celebrant.
